Our Purpose
Our purpose at Attack Taekwondo can be summed up in two simple words: “We serve.” As part of our service, we provide instruction that benefits our students both inside the dojo and beyond its walls. We teach discipline, which in turn builds confidence. We help them to develop physical and mental strength. We foster positive values, help to build character, and bring out the best in all our students. We “attack” every area of life, every issue that may be causing trouble or getting in the way. In other words, we offer more than fitness; we promote a healthy lifestyle. At Attack Taekwondo, we do not retreat without giving it our all!
Our Values
First and foremost, we serve our students with humility. We teach them to respect others as well as themselves. This is the basis of a healthy life. Everything else flows out of this fundamental understanding.
The world is full of many kinds of people with diverse backgrounds. At Attack Taekwondo, we welcome everyone with open arms. United in a common purpose, we invite our students to become part of our community and to learn new skills from highly trained professionals in the martial arts.
We provide several levels of instruction geared toward all age groups. Our classes for adults are fun, empowering, and offer a great workout. Our classes- es for teenagers and children teach self-defense and discipline as well as self-confidence and success. No matter your age, there is a place for you at Attack Taekwondo. Afterschool and summer- camp programs are also available.
Besides offering excellent instruction, we also educate our students to deal with challenges beyond the dojo. By studying martial arts, you will learn how to face obstacles and overcome them. This is a lesson that applies to every dimension of our daily lives, whether we’re dealing with difficulty at home, at school, or in the workplace.
We believe the best way to instill our values is to lead by example. Through their attitude and conduct, our instructors demonstrate the importance of respect, confidence, and self-discipline. When the values of Attack Taekwondo are put into action, they become easier for our students to emulate.
There is an old proverb about friendship that says, “Iron sharpens iron.” But what does this mean? Essentially, it means that a true friend is someone who tells the truth, even if it is difficult to hear. In other words, constructive criticism is sometimes necessary to inspire growth. At Attack Taekwondo, this is something we believe in and put into practice.
At Attack Taekwondo, we see the potential of all our students and help them achieve it through hard work and discipline. We help them become the very best that they can be.
As members of the Attack Taekwondo community, we are all accountable to one another. This means that if one of us stumbles and falls, there will always be someone to help them back to their feet. This is what community is all about.
Because we are all accountable to one another, no one gets blamed at Attack Taekwondo. Because we are responsible for one another, we see every opportunity as a teachable moment through which all our students can learn and grow.
We teach our students to be aware of the present moment. As the saying goes, yesterday is gone and tomorrow has enough troubles of its own. Only by focusing on the here and now can we live life to its fullest potential.
Part of living life to its fullest potential is to recognize accomplishments. At Attack Taekwondo, we teach our students they are part of something larger than themselves. As such, we have a role to play in the success of every member of our com- munity. We all share in that success and celebrate it together.
